Our mission

Climate Week Zurich is Europe’s leading business-driven climate platform – bringing together business leaders, policymakers, researchers, creatives and innovators to co-create and scale smart climate action. CWZ is much more than a conference: It’s a week-long, city-wide takeover featuring hundreds of events curated for thousands of people, a 'glocal' audience.

Climate Week Zurich is an independent nonprofit association dedicated to accelerating the global sustainable transition. We create an inclusive hub connecting business, policy, academia and civil society around measurable, collaborative climate solutions. CWZ empowers organisations and individuals to drive actionable impact and build competitive advantage in a sustainable future.

Where we began

Climate Week Zurich emerged in late 2024, when ecoinvent and Greenbuzz came together around a shared idea: bringing a movement similar to New York Climate Week to continental Europe. The intention was never to compete, but to strengthen Europe’s role in the global sustainability transition.

Soon after, more partners joined the effort, and the initiative officially launched in 2025, brought to life by a committed team of volunteers. In 2026, the first-ever CWZ took place in Zurich, organised by a dedicated executive team and board, and supported by a broad network of ambassadors.

With 244 partner organisations hosting over 270 events attracting 15,000 participations across Zurich, Climate Week Zurich established itself as the largest climate and sustainability platform in mainland Europe already in its inaugural edition. From 10–15 May 2027, CWZ will return even stronger, so save the date!

Measuring impact

Climate Week Zurich uses a robust framework that tracks inputs, outputs and impact to ensure transparency and alignment with systemic climate goals.

This structure enables CWZ to continually assess and strengthen its own impact, learning from each edition. At the same time, the framework empowers partners and participants to better understand and track their own behavioural shifts.

By making impact visible, actionable and measurable, it reinforces a core belief at the heart of CWZ: that sustainability and profitability are not opposing forces, but mutually reinforcing drivers of a bright future on our planet.
